How absolutely stupid.... Woke is just another word for racist in denial if you get this book you are pretty much setting up your child to be a racist and you don't want that trust me.

Perfect book - for babies AND parents. Very uplifting and encouraging. The illustrations are adorable. The narrative is accessible and powerful. About the current rating on Google Play: several white supremacist trolls are going title to title, down voting and roasting anti-racist works. This book is actually great, don't believe the hate.

About the author

Mahogany L. Browne is a California-born, Brooklyn-based writer, educator, activist, mentor, and curator. She has published several books of poetry, and she is an Urban Word NYC Artistic Director (as seen on HBO's Brave New Voices), founder of Women Writers of Color Reading Room, and Director of BLM@Pratt Programming, and facilitates performance poetry and writing workshops throughout the country.

Mahogany's poetry picture books include Black Girl Magic and Woke Baby.

Theodore Taylor III is an artist, designer, and photographer. He is the winner of the John Steptoe Award for New Talent for his work in When the Beat Was Born. He lives in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife and their very own woke baby.
