Die Landemaschine ist eine narrensichere Methode zu einer sicheren Landung. Mithilfe einfachster Hilfsmittel (z.B. eines Klebestreifens) gelingt jede Landung. Immer wieder kommen Landeunfälle bzw. Strömungsabrisse in geringer höhe vor. Indem die Landemaschine (der auf der Windschutzscheibe aufgeklebte Streifen) nichts anderes als die Lage des Horizonts zur Landung darstellt, zeigt dieser dem Piloten auf den ersten Blick an, wie viel man bei der Landung "ziehen" muss.
