From the teacher's point of view, my biology teacher had very frankly dissected the pros and cons of this book. While it has a beautifully written preface with the author's experience and his tips, the rest of the book is his notes while he prepared for entrance exams. The key point to note is, we are always encouraged to make our own notes because when we devise our own shortcuts, we not only remember, but also understand it better. We were warned against trying to remember all the mnemonics instead of creating our own. And how many do we need by the way? I cleared neet with only one, which I had devised back in class 10 to remember the crazy animal classification.
