About this ebook

Medusa vacays on the Italian Riviera to stop her best friend from destroying the world.

I’m staying off the coast on the Italian Riviera in Portofino. Have you ever been? It’s this gorgeous bay surrounded by rectangular red and yellow pastel buildings with swanky shops, restaurants and gorge trails.

Well, I don’t want to be here. And I really didn’t want my lover to join me. See, I came to protect my friend. The ancient Greek gods of Olympus claim Arachne holds the Scepter of Azure. The Scepter is a weapon that can freeze an entire city. Well, I don’t really care about the Scepter, I care about my friend. Of course, Arachne can hold her own. Don’t ever underestimate animals like spiders—or snakes, like me, for that matter.

The Guardian is a short story.

Medusa returns from My Evil Eye in this vacation urban fantasy novella. Although The Guardian is chronologically Book 3 in the Furies series, this book is a distinctive stand-alone that was written to be enjoyed without having read the first novel, CORA.

Content Warning: The Guardian contains a sample from My Evil Eye. There are sexual scenes, including one with violence that might be triggering to some readers. Expect profanity, violence, and adult situations.

🎭🎭ONE SENSATIONAL DELIGHT🎭🎭 Whisking wisps Wes! Hawke not only brought it, she waxed the floor with it in this unbelievably bewitching, skillfully unpredictable and enthrallingly addictive, rock-our-world rollercoaster. Displaying the tantalizing twists and wicked turns as the gripping trials and turbulent triumphs unwinds. Twixted, twined and crisply combined as the captivating drama, unyielding intrigue and riveting situations unfurl, luring you deeper into this tangled web until nothing else exists. The characters are spot-on authentic, with separate distinctions with engaging attributes, adding depth and range, playing off one another beautifully. Toss in brightly constructed scenarios graphically authentic and distinctively vivid, painting vibrant scenes so adorned and realistic, blasting this gem to life beautifully. Amazing job Hawke, thanks for sharing this awesome treat with us.

I initially did not quite get The Guardian. However, I like A.L. Hawke enough that I read the novella to the end to let the storyline play out. It is not one of my favorites, but the story came together and I understood the fight between the gods and the relationships between the characters. It is an interesting book and a quick read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
