Dr Uma Kant Singh is Head of Geography Department in Shri Baldeo P. G. College Baragaon, Varanasi, U.P., India (Affiliated to MGKVP, Varanasi). He has published more than 60 research papers, reviewed articles and abstracts etc. in reputed journals & edited books of India. He has been awarded Gold Medal in

m. A. (Geography) 1999. Dr. Singh has presented his research papers in so many National and International seminars as distinguished guests. He has carried out 2 International and 5 National seminars as a convener. He is engaged in various extra curricular activities related to Environmental and Geographical issues. He has a special interest in Population, Environmental Geography, GIS(Geographical Information System) and Remote Sensing. He is also a renowned coordinator for nodal center at Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Indian Space Research Organizations(ISRO), Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. He is a lifetime member in many geographic associations.
