Lindsey has again managed to entangle and enthrall you right in the first chapter - what a start! Just the fact that Tarsi has to figure out where or when she is already draws you in. From the first day she finds herself alone in that desert, the suffering begins: physical and mental. As she struggles to stay on her tip toes and tread lightly so as not to leave any lasting footprints, we follow her journey through the glistening desert and ancient cities of Egypt. The story is intrinsically thought out considering the two different time periods in which it takes place, as cleverly and lovingly put together as the Echo Trilogy. Various of the characters from the other Echo world series show up in this new spin off, and it is heart warming to catch up with them. Definitely a more adult book in terms of the violence and sexual themes versus the other two series, which is forewarned in the Author's note - so don't say you were not informed. It definitely makes your heart rate pick up! I am really excited for this series and where it will take us!
