I just started to read the book and the first thing I noticed that the author was either sloppy in his research or didn't care about fine but important details. A little research on Ottoman Empire and Tripolitan wars would have done the job quite well. Here is the truth about the pirates of Mediterranean Sea. "The First Barbary War (1801–1805), also known as the Tripolitanian War and the Barbary Coast War, was the first of two Barbary Wars, in which the United States and Sweden fought against the four North African states known collectively as the "Barbary States". Three of these were nominal provinces of the Ottoman Empire, but in practice autonomous: Tripoli, Algiers, and Tunis. The fourth was the independent Sultanate of Morocco.[5]" Source: Wikipedia

This is a great story. It is good fun. Counterterrorism with as much brass as 24. Sure it reeks of Hollywood and everybody knows espionage is mostly a ton of back end analytics and kindly briefs to each other. Bullets and explosions it has. This author has the gift of pace. I won't critical until I have read a few. If you liked Lee child this will do. Fast food is not gastronomy....it's yummy...

andrea kerr I would have read it b4 reading that idiots comment telling you just about everything including how it ended and didnt even put a spoiler alert up thats why i gave it 1 star. gutted at reading her...
