EXCLUSIVITY As a fan of the writing duo of Renee Rose and Vanessa Vale in their Wolf Ranch series, I was excited to see a new series, Two Marks. Once again, these two talented ladies delivered a fantastic story, but one with a nice twist, two shifters who together would claim one she-wolf, or in this case, human. I am happy to say that each book in this series reads like a unique and different dynamic of a triad relationship. The story will have West Springs Sheriff Holt Cooper and DEA Special Agent Theo Decker visiting rancher Bob Jenkins. It is suspected that he or at least someone on his property is making meth that has been moving throughout the state. What a shock when a woman answers the door, Ali Jenkins, and both men realize she is their mate—and daughter of a man they consider an enemy. “The Cheyenne office has been dealing with a large influx of meth into the southern portion of the state. We’ve been able to question local dealers and track the supply this way. To Granger County.” The story’s plot will have Theo and Holt finding their scent-match-mate, only to discover she is the daughter of a man they know killed wolves. They will meet up with her again, by chance, when she shows up at the local watering hole and approaches them. After a bit of an attitude and the men staying calm, they chat and play darts, but these men are determined. The second day seeing each other and an offer of dinner sets this triad into motion. Melissa: Those two are alpha males through and through. I think the testosterone is pumping off them in waves. Ali: If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go give them a piece of my mind, not sleep with either of them. I love the instant chemistry that Ali feels towards Holt and Theo, but she is confused about why she has feelings for two men at the same time. It becomes clear that they want her—together—as in the three of them. Ali is out of her elements, but Holt and Theo never coerce, only encourage, and she wants them as much as they (and their wolves) want her. They will have to take it slow, continue their investigation, and are shocked when Ali shares more disturbing news. She needs to stay away from the danger and allow them to do the investigation. They’ve shared with their Alpha, Gibson, that their mate is the daughter of an enemy, and he wants her marked as quickly as possible. “There was just something so life-affirming and perfect about it. I was sure it was just biology ensuring that we reproduced, but tonight it felt more like destiny. That he was coming home. Joining us.” The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly. Ali realizes that it is true about meth affecting the Jenkins ranch. Is her dad involved? Why and what does ranching neighbor Tim Hollaroy have to do with it—and their ranch? What will happen with Theo, Holt, and Ali in the end? The story will have a shocking turn that has your heart sinking. Not everyone is what they seem, and neither are their actions. Has Ali played Holt and Theo as fools? Will her knowledge of shifters place the entire pack in danger? “Trust me. I’m a good shot.” “That bad things happened, that innocent people were caught up in them. It was the end results, the choices one made, that proved who they were. Proved their honor and ultimate value to the pack.”

Theo and Holt have an incredible way of being 100% sweet but in a dominant, possessive way…. especially in the bedroom. Ali is young and determined with a similar drive as her lawmakers, to do what’s right. She is quick to think on her feet and demonstrates a courage like no other. It is so easy to relate to her feelings of dealing with real life and her struggles with family dynamics, peoples perceptions and the anxiety of committing to a future. Sometimes it just takes time to show everyone that you are not your father. This series is just delicious!!

The Jenkins get what they’re deserved but we also get answers to previous questions. This time it’s Holt and Theo finding their mate with Ali and just where they least expect her. I was sucked in and I went from gasping to blushing to wide-eyed in the span of minutes. The suspense and danger kept me hooked and the steam and chemistry had me unable to put this down.
