Zari is taken from her home and is trapped in Darian's estate that uses magic. She can't do magic but a ghost decides that he is going to help her. This story is about how Zari fakes magic with a ghost and promises to find out who he is. She develops a connection with Peldin who is handicapped in a wheelchair and Darians older brother. This is a story of one person who makes it her personal mission to stop the abuse that Darian is doing with everyone who has magic. This story was a great twist on Rumplestiltskin. I loved Zari's story, especially her character arc with all the personal growth. The world was fascinating, the characters felt real, and the plot was well paced and suspenseful. This is definitely one I'll be reading again in the future.
