About this ebook

A senseless slaughter leads Lucas Davenport down a twisted path in this thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling author.

Lucas Davenport has seen many terrible murder scenes. This is one of the worst. In the Minnesota town of Wayzata, an entire family has been killed—husband, wife, two kids, dogs. On the wall, in blood: “Were coming.” No apostrophe.

There’s something about the scene that tugs at Lucas’s cop instincts—it looks an awful lot like the kind of scorched-earth retribution he’s seen from Mexican drug gangs. But this is a seriously upscale town, the husband ran a modest software company, the wife dabbled in local politics. None of it seems to fit.

Until it does...

I love Sanford's prey series! I love how he has grown his character Lucas in each book. You can see that growth a lot in this book. As much as I like the Prey series, this one was all right... Not my most favorite. I think his other series were much better in comparison. I mainly liked it at the start when Lucas is jogging/thinking about his life, and when the case started picking up pace and started to feel more like the usual Sanford style. Now I'm off to read another Prey book...

Great plot with all the grit we've come to love. Is there is a knock anywhere (playing devil's advocate) it would be that the writing was not quite as crisp as JS usual product. As if he was hurrying to meet a deadline and knew the plot was enough, which it is. Read it.

I've read all of the Davenport novels and this one was no let down. A very quick read that definitely keeps the pages turning. The only problem is that it ran out of pages too soon and now I'm back to waiting for the next Davenport installment.
