About this ebook

The small town of Willow Creek was shrouded in a thick fog that clung to the cobblestone streets like a ghostly veil. The townspeople whispered tales of the Corpse Light, a mysterious phenomenon that appeared on moonless nights, leading travelers astray into the depths of the surrounding forest. It was said that those who followed the eerie glow never returned.

In a cozy tavern nestled on the outskirts of town, a group of friends gathered around a crackling fireplace, seeking warmth from the chilling night. Among them was Karen, a bold and adventurous soul, who scoffed at the tales of the Corpse Light.

"You all believe in superstitions too easily," she said, sipping her ale. "There's no such thing as a light that leads people to their doom."

Across the tavern sat James, a reserved scholar fascinated by the town's folklore. "Perhaps the Corpse Light is more than just a story," he mused. "There could be a scientific explanation behind it."

The group bantered back and forth, debating the existence of the legendary light until the tavern door creaked open, and an elderly man stumbled in, panting heavily.

The man's weathered face was etched with fear as he collapsed onto a nearby stool. "I-I've seen it," he stammered, his voice trembling. "The Corpse Light... it's real."

The tavern fell silent as the man recounted his harrowing encounter. He had ventured into the forest seeking his lost pet when he spotted the eerie glow among the trees.
