About this ebook

Nerdy Paisley has been attracted to gorgeous billionaire Hercules Lord since high school, but she’s accepted that they’ll never be more than friends — until a chance encounter changes everything.

He calls me PG, and my heart skips a beat.

Nobody calls me that but Hercules Lord, a man I've had a crush on since high school.

He and I could never be together, though. A romance between us is strictly forbidden. The Lords are old money, and my family, the Groves, is new tech money—and the Groves and Lords are bitter enemies. The rivalry between our families runs deep enough to create an invisible line in the sand that neither of us ever dared to cross.

But that's never stopped us from staring at each other from across a crowded room. And we've always been cordial.

Oh...

There was that one night seven years ago. I bet Hercules doesn't know that he's my first.

Yet here we are again, gazing into each other's eyes.

Tonight feels different.

We've grown up.

Our desire for each other wants to defy our restraint.

But truly, really... What will happen if we cross the line?

Crossing The Line is the first story in a new billionaire romance series of connected standalone books featuring the Lord Brothers of Manhattan. If you enjoy forbidden love, second-chance romance, a deep-rooted family feud, and a love story with passionate slow-burn heat to keep you turning the pages, then dive in! The story also ends happily ever after.

This sounds like a redo of tempting fate of Z. L ARKADIE. I'm confused, in that trilogy his name was a Hercules Valentine. I skimmed through a couple of pages and lake and Mason from TEMPTING FATE and THE Deception is in there too....

I loved this book! Crossing the line was such a sweet and authentic love story between two characters forbidden from being friends, let alone lovers, due to their feuding families. Paisley and Hercules, despite being opposites on paper, find that they have a sizzling mutual attraction towards each other, whether their families like it or not, and can't help but give in to their temptations for each other. A great read with a steady plot and a steamy romance! - I received this book as an arc reader.

I really enjoyed this story about Paige and Hercules. Their families were rivals but they had an attraction to each other that neither could deny. This billionaire love story was sweet and definitely steamy. I really liked both Paige and Hercules and can't wait to read more of the author's books. This is an absolute recommend from me. I love forbidden romances and especially enemies to lovers. Kind of reminds me of Romeo and Juliet but without the tragic ending. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Z.L. Arkadie keeps her billionaire romance spicy, intense, and emotional. She loves writing trilogies and duets connected by siblings of a mysterious family with secrets to hide. But she'll also write standalone romance books. No matter what type of series she's crafting, Z.L. feels it's her job to keep you on the edge of your seat, engaged in her stories until the very end. You'll see billionaire romance tropes like enemies to lovers, best friend's brother, and second chance romance when Z.L. Arkadie is writing the story.

Zoey Locke is an alter-ego of Z.L. Arkadie, who writes fun, slow-burn (or shall I say slower-burning) billionaire romance novels featuring interconnected stand-alone books. She likes to write series with characters that have something in common, and they can be brothers, sisters, or cousins. Zoey keeps it lighter, funny, and, yes, hot. When Zoey's writing, you'll be sure to get your favorite romance tropes. Like enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, friends to lovers, second chances, boss/employee, forced proximity, and much more.
