About the author

The Reverend Robert Alan Rimbo is Bishop of the Southeast Michigan Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He is a frequent speaker on worship matters, a member of the North American Academy of Liturgy and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, and is on the Resource Proposal Team for the Renewing Worship project.

Mark S. Hanson was a parish pastor and bishop of the Saint Paul Area Synod of the ELCA prior to being elected presiding bishop of the ELCA in 2001
