About this ebook

John Rayburn thought all of his problems were the mundane ones of an Ohio farm boy in his last year in high school. Then his doppelgänger appeared, tempted him with a device that let him travel across worlds, and stole his life from him. John soon finds himself caroming through universes, unable to return home—the device is broken. John settles in a new universe to unravel its secrets and fix it.

Meanwhile, his doppelgänger tries to exploit the commercial technology he's stolen from other Earths: the Rubik's Cube! John's attempts to lie low in his new universe backfire when he inadvertently introduces pinball. It becomes a huge success. Both actions draw the notice of other, more dangerous travelers, who are exploiting worlds for ominous purposes. Fast-paced and exciting, this is SF adventure at its best from a rising star.

This book is about the main character John Rayburn traveling through different universes. John Prime is a traveler of the universes who looks the same as John Rayburn has ideas of making money by taking ideas from other universes that doesn't exist in the universe of John Rayburn, such as rubrics cube, and selling them. Prime tricks John into traveling universes with his device and doesn’t tell him that the device is broken and can only travel forward universes. Prime wants to settle into John’s life. Later in the book john invents pinball in the universe it is not invented and prime is in big trouble.

I always love books that have to do with parrallel worlds and time travel. This book brings a look at what would happen if it actually happen to a person. The transfer of ideas and relationships being altered. I've read the second one to I hope there's a third I don't know about...yet.
