This is a great book to learn chemistry from! In eighth grade I became interested in chemistry, and began reading many articles on Wikipedia and other websites on various topics of interest. This sort of education, however, does not ensure you learn the mathematics of chemistry, or some of the finer points. After searching through many books, i choose this one for its ease of reading, and the experiments it offered. The writing is easy to read and not the least bit intimidating, as many chemistry related texts are. Sophmore year of high school, a generally chemistry course was offered. I tested out of the class by taking the final. Using background information from this book, I was able to skip general chemistry, and go straight to AP, I even got a 5 on the AP test. This book taught me chemistry!
