What could an author so dead set against social progression have to say that is worth reading in an already-crowded field?Absolutely nothing, especially since facts (an important element of "nonfiction") stand in Mr O'Reilly's way, as they did with "Killing Jesus," itself a bizarre book full of fantasy and conjecture. Bill O'Reilly represents a lot of what is wrong with America.

The book was detailed perfectly. It gave the facts on how the war was won. Some we all already knew, quite a bit we didnt. A great tribute to Patton his family and what it takes to win. I wonder if we as a country realize the price we paid and if we had to do it again would we have the leaders that would ignore the political risks and just get it done. That will be all.....

First, let me say this is a gripping read. The authors paint a vivid picture of the intensity that was the waning months of war in Europe. The challenges that Patton presented his superiors are also well detailed. What is missing, however, is anything substantive to support the notion that Patton's death was anything but a tragic accident. Given the book's premise, I expected more than mere conjecture.
