A Polite Request: I use reader reviews to help me choose new books/authors. I won't invest time in "interesting story but shallow characters and needs editing - too many spelling and grammatical errors". PLEASE stop summarizing the book - I have already read the About This Book section. I'd like to know your thoughts on the story. Is it worth my time? Why or why not? THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

I, as a trans woman, a poet, and a lover of books, absolutely love this book. It may not be entirely accurate to life, but that's not the point of this book. It is a doorway into the life of trans people. It's meant to show some of what us go through while also showing a good accepting environment. It is display of what should happen for us. Love for one's self and for others is a major theme here. It shows that one of only things we want is acceptance and love because so often are we hurt that we feel as if it's impossible to find such things. But after we find it we treasure it like nothing else. I hope all who read this realize the good love does for others, and how important it is for all of us to thrive. Love yourself and others. May the stars watch over you, and peace be within your heart.

About the author

MEREDITH RUSSO was born, raised, and lives in Tennessee. She started living as her true self in late 2013 and never looked back. If I Was Your Girl was partially inspired by her experiences as a trans woman. Like Amanda, Meredith is a gigantic nerd who spends a lot of her time obsessing over video games and Star Wars.
