A truly incredible short story. Even though it ended perfectly, it left me wanting more, so of course I promptly re-read it. I absolutely love how Garth Nix crafted the worldly and otherworldly into a tightly woven net of beauty, grace, heart and thrilling wonder. The young woman who happens to be the main character is plucky, strong, (and strong-willed), -and ended up being someone that as an adult; I found myself admiring and looking up to. Buy this short story, sit down with your beverage of choice, and enjoy the ride, you won't regret it.
