About the author

Alfred H. Burne was born in 1886. He was educated at Windsor School and the RMA Woolwich. He was commissioned into the Royal Artillery in 1906 and won the D.S.O. In the First World War. He was involved in Cadet Training during the Second World War. He wrote nine important books on military history. Alfred Burne died in 1959.
