About this ebook

They have nothing in common — except falling in love.

Zoey Beckett, still haunted by the loss of her parents in a plane crash, has closed herself off from relationships and pours herself into her teaching. But when the school board implements changes that would hurt her students, Zoey resigns.

Foreign news correspondent Tyler Farrington has seen too much violence. When the facts he reports are suppressed, he resigns. Desperate to recharge, he buys a mountain cabin in the small town of Cedar Creek.

When Tyler and Zoey meet while volunteering at the town’s historic theater, their chemistry is undeniable. But so are their polar opposite lives. The two broken souls could complete one another if they dared. But it will take a leap of faith, and that might be one leap too many.

I have to be honest. This was not my favorite of the Cedar Creek books. It was much darker and heavier, almost like it was written by a different person. There was too much talking and over-thinking. She used terms like "boinking", and in the middle of the book began preaching about covid, socialism, and remarks against the President. (I'm not a fan of Biden either but I read for enjoyment, not to be preached to). Don't get me wrong. I like Ms. Jarvis' books. Just don't start with this one.

Sunlight on Cedar Creek was a pretty quick read. It dealt with some deep topics though for being a shorter story. These characters are down to earth and relatable. Zoey has come back to Cedar Creek to live with her Aunt Millie who owns an older theatre. She struggles with anxiety so she doesn’t let people in easily. Tyler found a little cabin for himself in Cedar Creek and has been helping Zoey’s Aunt with plastering the theatre. He’s a super patient guy and comes to like Zoey’s company after only a day or two together. They make a great team and Zoey is definitely getting more comfortable around Tyler. They run into a few problems along the way but they have good chemistry together. Again Tyler is a really patient guy which is what Zoey needed. This story is a clean slow burn romance with nothing beyond kissing. I would recommend this story!
