I bought this book, yarn and needles to make one of the socks in this book from my local yarn store..This technique certainly save me from the second sock syndrome. The hardest parts I had was the cast on, keeping track of the rows and ending with the kitchener. First time making socks and trying a new technique. Should have done the tutorial at the beginning though.

Melissa Morgan-Oakes learned as a child to crochet, tat, and sew without commercial patterns. When her children were small, she created award-winning sewn and crocheted garments.
