About this ebook

The No. 1 Sunday Times Bestseller.

At just eight years old, Jodie is violent, aggressive and extremely challenging. Five carers in four months have been unable to cope, but there is one last hope: Cathy Glass...

As Jodie begins to trust Cathy and make progress, shocking details about her past come to light. No one had noticed the glaring signs of abuse by those who were supposed to love her most.

One of Cathy’s earliest and bestselling memoirs, Damaged is a heartbreaking story that proves just how valuable foster carers are for society’s most vulnerable children.

***'WARNING!'*** This book contains very detailed descriptions of a child that's been raped and sexually abused throughout her child hood up untill age 7 when she was finally put in care... I never would of started reading it if I had known as it plays so heavy on my mind and heart 😓 I am only halfway through and I just need to race to the end hoping and praying this little girl can somehow heal and have some sort of happiness... If I knew how detailed and the abuse was so clearly told in this story no way would I have picked this one up... It's a 1st book I've read from Cathy that I just have not been able to rate any higher than a one star... I'm absolutely devastated for all this little girl has been put through especially as she completely slipped through the net after being on the at risk register since birth she still had to endure this shocking treatment from her own Mother and Father for years on end... Devastating... 🌟👎😓

I am not a huge reader and with four kids, one who has leukemia another with A.D.D and twins I dont akways have the time to read. I coukdnt put this book down, every free moment I got it was in my hand. Its a sad thing to know that there are parents out there that do this to their innocent children, but at least there are good people in the world to love them unconditionally. I learned a lot from Kathy and how to love, discipline and have patience for my children even on their worst days.

I don't often read, but being on holiday I needed something to at least try and flick through. But from the moment I started reading I was hooked. After just two days I had competed the book much to my disappointment as I didn't want it to be over. It is so well written, I wish I could congratulate Cathy personally on everything she has done, and look forward to reading more she has written.
