About this ebook

It's modern times (as modern as they ever get) in the pointy churched sleepy village of Privett in Hampshire, Olde England. No one believes in goblins any more. That doesn't stop them causing mischief. Once every 70 years the goblin king who lives under the Old Bookshop in Petersfield sends out scouts to find a replacement human puppy to kidnap. Ideally a fair haired boy. Alexander looks like the perfect candidate. His life hasn't been the same since.

About the author

It seems likely that the next generation of readers will remember me more for 4 little comedic childrens' stories - published on my author site goblinsearch between 2001 and 2004 - than all the many thousands of serious articles I wrote about the computer market in the 10 years before and the 17 years after.

It started with a short bedtime story I wrote as a surprise for my godson - Alexander Woyte and the Goblins. Then one thing led to another and I began to self identify myself as writing that kind of thing too.

In January 2023 I looked back at those old web story pages which I had designed for desktop pcs having a screen area 100x larger than the phones we read on today. Even to my eyes they did not look so inviting any more. So I decided to convert them one last time to make them more reader friendly as ebooks and paperbacks and finally as audiobooks too. Because reading out aloud was the way that 3 of them had first come into the world.

So now you know the when of it.

As to where my stories begin and the who of it... they have roots everywhere. In my lucky life I have lived in a refugee camp, above a typewriter shop, on a farm, by a stream, on a pebble beach, on the internet and in my head. I now live in the unspoiled South Downs parish of East Chiltington (in Olde England) writing unburdened by a business plan.
