About this ebook

One of Nashville’s fastest rising stars, Kyle Keenan has it all—fame, fans, and a chance at fortune. But the dream he’s busted his tail for means nothing without the woman who holds his heart. With her sassy smile and pull-no-punches attitude, Abbey is his greatest love—and his greatest regret. When he’s confronted in a live TV interview about alleged involvement with a country music starlet, Kyle blurts out he’s already engaged…to Abbey.

Abbey Whittaker has come a long way from the starry-eyed six-year-old who made a marriage pact with her best friend. With a thriving business, a loving family, and a tight-knit group of friends, she’s put away childish things. She long ago banished Kyle from her life, so the last thing she expects is him walking through her door or the blistering kiss that follows.

Kyle is desperate to convince Abbey that a fake engagement is the best way to get the media off her back—and his. And it just might give him a chance to fix what he destroyed. Even as these two frenemies remember all the reasons they wanted to be lovers, another blast from Kyle’s past returns, threatening to expose the secret he’s spent his entire career hiding.

When truths come to light, will love conquer all or will Kyle lose everything?

In Our Kind Of Love, we finally get Kyle and Abbey’s story, and with it, an explanation long overdue - but one worth waiting for. I couldn’t imagine what on earth could be a good enough reason to keep these two apart for 10 years — but it’s a doozy! You don’t have to read earlier books to enjoy this yummy story, but the intrigue about their standoff definitely makes this book a very satisfying read. They also have a lovely backstory that involves a plastic ring from one of those little candy and prize machines, where you put in a quarter and get something in a little plastic bubble. When Kyle was 6, he spent almost all of his saved allowance before finally getting one with a ring in it to give to Abbey. This little ring weaves its way through the story and their lives in an endearing fashion. With Kait’s books there’s always an HEA and Kyle and Abbey’s story comes with a surprise as well. I’m glad I stayed up late to finish Our Kind Of Love, for very sweet dreams followed! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another story from Eden’s Ridge and the Misfit Inn. Kyle was taken in by Joan, the owner and matriarch of the Inn. Kyle has known Abbey since they were six years old. Kyle and Abbey were best friends. Then he goes off to pursue his music career. Abbey pursues her career but returns to Eden’s Ridge to help her parents care for Granddaddy after his dementia worsens. After Kyle’s manager tries to manipulate him yet again, he fires the man and head to Eden’s Ridge to let Abbey know he accidentally said they were engaged. Abbey is still trying to recover from Kyle leaving her when she thought they would be getting married. Kyle is still hurt that Abbey didn’t want to marry him. But there are other underlying issues. A great story of two people trying to find each other again and fighting the past. Kait writes wonderful stories and this is just another one. If you haven’t read any of her books before, read and enjoy. Some of the characters have been in other stories but you don’t have to read them to enjoy this book. But it might encourage you to go look up some of her other books. Read and enjoy. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed this second chance romance. It wasn't too angsty. There was drama, but it didn't go on forever. It was a sweet love story that made me want to find the previous books and binge read. I liked Abbey and Kyle. Even when Abbey was still angry at him, she was a likable character. I liked that Kyle did not shy away from being around Abbey, knowing she was mad at him. I liked the Grandfather's character, and enjoyed Abbey's parents reaction o seeing Kyle again. I do wish Kyle's mother had faced some consequences, or we had been able to see her reaction to his rebuttal. This was a relaxing, sweet, romantic read with an HEA, and a pretty good bonus epilogue. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
