It was a good book with a good plot. The way the characters are treated though.... So Cat definitely had some issues, though I'm not sure what exactly. Especially towards the end. The way I see it, Heath was organising a surprise for her and she reacted in a way that didn't benefit either of them. Their love is the obsessive kind and, to be honest, other than knowing Cat because of their history and steamy sex, i'm not sure I see how that relationship was progressive. Also, I think Ethan made the best choice in that circumstance which was to end the relationship because in the end, both of them would've been unhappy. So Cat blaming Ethan is just ridiculous. She definitely had problems taking accountability for her actions and the role she played in how some events turned out. So, she has some growing to do. As for her best friend, good luck girl. I think having her own book would've been nice.

Really enjoyed this book. When I wasn't reading, I was thinking about the story. Raw emotions and captivating story. Romance with a hint of suspense which I love! Will definitely check out the authors other books after this. A must read.

At first, I found the premise compelling, since the female protagonist chooses her first love but then everything goes wrong. It seemed a departure from other romances because, after she chooses her first love, that relationship seems controlling, strained, and her first love is deceptive and inconsiderate. All fights are resolved by people in their minds instead of actually hashing out the disrespect or rudeness of the other party. No resolutions, just a lazy ending
