About this ebook

At fourteen, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough, and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends. . .until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, the teenaged Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.

Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead. But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh-eating zombies--and he's next on the menu.
As if starting high school isn't hard enough. . .now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chain saw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that?

It's been awhile since I have read this book. But the last impression it left me was how awesome it was. I loved the book all together. The only thing I would say against it to make it better is add more length. At certain points I'd lose pieces of the story or a certain character description which is important. And at certain points I had to go back and read a particular part. The storyline was great, characters awesome, world building easy to see. Just need more length.

Pretty good, but the book leaves a lot of things open and drags the end a little. I can definitely say I'll buy the next book, but if it doesn't begin to expand on more of what I was expecting from this book I may drop this series quick. Like many who read this book, the cover was a huge draw in for me to even pick it up (I know, I know not good). And the story held to the theme of magic and supernatural things left and right, but it didn't have that "wow" factor I was expecting. I'm hoping for the best for the next book, but I'm not expecting as much as I did for this one. The best way I can describe why is, the beginning started like any good anime might and the end felt like a cheesy kids movie from the 90s with b rate actors. Overall worth a read though.

I tried to read this book, but i just couldn't finish it. I felt it tried way too hard to be relatable to teens with its constant references to things like Chuck Norris, which I would be okay with if it was used in moderation. Sadly, as the book progressed I only found myself more and more dissapointed in the book.
