This is Volume 4 of an auction catalog from Maggs Bros., London (1925) for very early books about the Americas, including over 36 illustrations. Volume IV contains descriptions of 1287 books, maps, etc, from the dawn of metal type printing in the 16th century. The entries provide an interesting history of book arts and appreciation in 1925, as well as insights about the subject matter of these books.

The date of publication is incorrect. Nine parts were issued as nine separate catalogues, with continuous numeration by Maggs Bros., London, 1922-30. This is Part IV issued in 1925.
