Absolutely loved it. The characters, plot and pace were all brilliant to my mind. I was able to envisage people and events in my own way due to Grisham's style, which gives detail in short bursts, leaving your own mind to take over the rest. An absorbing read and I found myself really invested in the characters. Wild, wacky, funny and serious. It was my holiday read on a week away and I couldn't put it down.

I read a huge amount. Robert Crais, Lee Child, Connelly, and a lot of Grisham, and enjoy every one. But, Jesus, this is hard going. I have had to give up. I am dying for the denument at the end, but getting there is like wading through really boring treacle So many characters, and such tenuous scenarios, and padding. I've jst read Grisham's 7 books on Theodore Boone, which I can highly recommend, although short, and thus poor value for money. I have managed a third. I may yet jump another third, or maybe forget it and find something more fun to read.

Much like Gray Mountain, the abrupt ending keeps the reader thinking about future of the main characters, long after the book has ended. Good job John!
