This is the story of Madelyn Pendant and Captain Josiah Wingate. After Madelyn’s mother dies, she must travel to the Caribbean to find a notorious pirate to fulfill a promise to her late mother. With her cousin’s help, she, her young brother, and her cousin get passage on Captain Josiah Wingate’s ship, whom happens to be going to where Madelyn needs to go. Overall this was a decent read. I really liked Josiah right from the beginning. I was kind of wishy washy about Madelyn. I felt at times she acted like a spoiled 2 year old rather than headstrong. I did find her cousin amusing as well. Overall, I enjoyed this adventure and look forward to reading more from this author. A witty and great story. A black leather bag, a pirate, a captain who has little tolerance for disruptions, and a lady who can be a royal pain is what this delightful tale brings to the table. There are great twists around these characters and the writing is so witty and fun to read. Yes, this is Madelyn and Josiah's story but Snipes has a staring role and two missing people will be found. Even Rudolph Gustavo had some interesting things happen. This is a really good book in fact all the books in the series have been great. I am happy to recommend all of them. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
