About the author

Rita Guibert nació en Buenos Aires el 5 de diciembre, 1916 y estudió en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, donde obtuvo una licenciatura en Ciencias, con especialidad en Química. En Nueva York, donde vivió desde 1957 hasta su muerte el 5 de diciembre, 2007 trabajó ampliamente en el campo editorial. Sus artículos fueron publicados en Paris Review, Intellectual Digest, Review 72, Vista Magazine,Revista Iberoamerica, publicada por la Universidad de Pittsburgh, y en Life en Español, para la cual fue periodista por cinco años. En televisión fue la creadora y entrevistadora de Latin America: The Restless Colossus, una serie de cinco programas de 30 minutos sobre la cultura latinoamericana. También fue editora, traductora, consultora, investigadora, catedrática y panelista.
