Being a PNR snob, I am very picky about these types of stories. Well..... Willow Winters did not disappoint me. Wounded Kiss takes place in a small town called Shadow Falls which is protected by shifters (werewolves). Yearly, there is an offering of the village girls ranging from the age of 19-21. This offering is part of the towns treaty with the shifters and no one dares to not obey it. This year, best friends and roommates Lizzie and Grace have just turned of age to partake in the offering. Neither wants to be there but they know that they don't have a choice. Although frightened of being chosen, they go hoping and wishing that they will be overlooked. However the shifters have other plans for them and soon Grace and Lizzie find themselves torn away form the life they once knew to the unknown. Grace has this strength and fierceness that Devin, the Alpha, craves. When he felt her presence when she attended the offering the year prior, he knew that she was the one but he had to wait. So when she came of age, there was no way he would let her get away. There is this immediate pull that Grace feels towards Devin and she can't comprehend how that can be when they have just met. Grace wants out. She wants to get Lizzie and to go back to the life that she and Lizzie have planned for themselves. Although her mind tells her one thing, her body and heart say another. Will Grace accept her fate and stand beside Devin's side as his "mate?" Lizzie has demons that have haunted her throughout her life. She finally has gotten to place where she feels loved and accepted, thanks to Grace, her saving grace. What a cruel world! She is ripped from her safe place and taken against her will. As much as Dom and Caleb attempt to show her compassion and patients, she just can't remove her fears and the ghosts of her past that keep her locked up like a chained animal. When Dom realizes why she fears him, he stops at nothing to make her understand that he is not like the one who broke her. Caleb and Dom stop at nothing to make her see that they are hers and she is theirs. The scenes were so hot, sexy and alluring. As a reader you feel like you are Lizzie or Grace and you're taken by these sexy beasts that ant nothing more to love and please you. I couldn't get enough and I want more.

Wounded Kiss is a quick, steamy, smutty PNR/werewolf romance and book #1 in the To Be Claimed Saga. This book is also Willow Winters' first paranormal book, and she never ceases to surprise me! Willow Winters' work is always, always my anticipated read(s) and she doesn't fail to deliver every single time! I loved how she created this setting; it's multiple POV, mainly navigated from two bestfriends: Lizzie and Grace's perspective, however you'll also get the chance to see their "love interests" POVs too. My goodness! I really enjoyed how the plot unfolded, the characters are amazing! Grace is strong, resilient and hot headed, she's definitely a perfect match for Devin! Lizzie is a gentle soul, she experienced a lot of painful incidents when she was younger that caused invisible wounds. But Dom and Caleb are determined to help Lizzie in every way possible. I don't want to give too many spoilers away, but basically the town of "Shadow Falls" needs protection from the vampires and witches. The werewolves agreed to provide protection to the people of this town, hence a treaty between humans and werewolves was formed. And because of this treaty, every year women between the ages of 19-21 must participate in an act called the "offering". And in this year's offering, Lizzie and Grace were selected. Lizzie and Grace have been bestfriends even since they met in middle school. They are more like sisters; they are fiercely protective of each other. Grace and Lizzie desperately want to get out of the situation they are in. But that's a bit difficult when the werewolves who took them by force, also wants Grace and Lizzie as their last breath. Grace couldn't comprehend her sudden attraction towards Devin, AKA the Alpha of the pack. Despite how much she (thought she) hated Devin there was an instant physical attraction between the two. All her emotions went haywire. And then there's Lizzie, she was escaping from her horrible past but now, she's living through an onslaught of painful memories. But that's not all, Lizzie not only has one werewolf who wants her but two! Two Betas of Devin's pack, Caleb and Dom. Talk about being in a sticky situation! I did not see that coming! Caleb and Dom can sense Lizzie's pain, and they want nothing more than to soothe her; help her to get over past the painful memories. And most importantly, they want Lizzie to trust them, for her to understand that Dom and Caleb will not harm her. Ahh! The ending though! It left me wanting more!! I'm impatiently wanting for book #2 Gentle scars!! Overall, if you love a read with a bit of smut in in them with hot, dominanting and s*xy heroes/werewolves. Or you just love reading paranormal romances in general, you definitely need to read this book!! **I received a gifted ecopy/ebook of this book in exchange for my honest review

Thank you so much Willow for the ARC it was amazing! Devin and Grace, have wonderful chemistry and how she feels dizzy around him because she was in heat omg I think reading that part I was feeling the same. Dom, Lizzie, and Caleb are amazing too, the pull she has to them is perfect and the difference in how they see her is so freaking hot. For an introduction to the paranormal genre of books, it was an amazing one. It certainly had all the aspects from regular romance novels that I like, but it was something about the paranormal feature that made the whole book enticing. Winters always does a phenomenal job at writing the chemistry between the main romantic pairing, and this book is most definitely no exception. For a shortish novel, she does a great job of quickly getting you into the atmosphere of the setting. It was overall such a great read that I’m sure that I’ll read it again sometime soon! It deserves more than a 5/5 star rating!
