It had me hooked from the start. I found this to be a powerful story, despite everything that Elira faces (and the hits keep coming from the so called Men in her life, she is no shrinking violet, she is smart and resourceful, and in fact manages to get one up on Maskim a couple of times, as well as scare him, despite him being a harcore mafia man (not that he would admit it). I really didn't know how Elira and Maskim's story was going to play out, and there were twists and turns, challenges in their developing relationship. This is the first book by Nicole Cypher that I have read and I loved it, I am looking forward to more in the series and I will be checking out the other books the author has previously written. Wow what a ride just was. It took you through all the emotions. I absolutely love Elira she's the definition of a Survivor and a strong woman. She won't settle for less than what she deserves. With everything that was done to knock her down and make her feel less than she fought it all and came out on top. Maksim it's so misunderstood that it breaks my heart. He just wants to be a good brother and take care of his sister. He didn't need the problems of Elira yeah he's still struck by her side and did everything he could to protect her. I've read several books written by Nicole Cypher; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books. This is the first book in the Las Vegas Petrov Bratva Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Elira & Maksim; she comes to America to meet her fiancé but ends up kidnapped by human traffickers. She is sold to his boss who gives her to him.

Nicole Cypher is a hopeless romantic who enjoys reading gruesome thrillers but usually finds herself rooting for the villain. When you combine these traits, you get a dark romance author with a knack for writing plot twists, serial killers, mafia men, troubled heroes, and villains who still manage to win her over in the end.
