An enchanting story. I think many people will not understand it but for those who do, you are one more lovely enlightened soul. Should be a childrens' classic and in the library of every English school teacher.

Having seen the movie that was based off of this book only a year ago, I had little choice but to track it down, as the tale of Anna and Marnie is one that is near and dear to my heart. I cannot recommend this book enough.

I have seen the movie before so I watched it, I cried at the ending, then I found out that this was based on a novel, the novel is kinda different than the movie so I decided to read it.

About the author

The second of four children of barrister parents, Joan Robinson spent her early childhood in Hampstead Garden Suburb. She went to seven schools, but passed no exams. Having always wanted to be an illustrator, she began with fourteen books for small children, and later moved on to older children’s fiction. She is internationally renowned for her TEDDY ROBINSON books.
