This is an entertaining urban fantasy with a thought-provoking premise – young people trained as assassins to eliminate threats to the established gods. It’s a well written story with complex characters – including some from Norse mythology. There’s plenty of action, drama, angst and treachery along with some steamy MFM encounters, some BDSM elements and a little FF action. The story is told through multiple POV’s and the use of flashbacks is quite effective. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review. Kirby is unaware of her past – in particular her past lives as a Valkyrie. As a young cadet, she believes she’s finally found her place at T.O.M., where she excels at her lessons and training despite the harsh and brutal methods. When betrayal comes from an unexpected source everything suddenly goes sideways throwing Kirby off track. How will she react then when her memories are restored and she realizes that those closest to her are also guilty of deceit and manipulation? I’m looking forward to the continuation of this very interesting tale.

Not my kind of read. To much time period shifts things got confusing with past, present and future plots.
