Guilt, accusations, and possible motive grip the media and into this fray an innocent man finds himself being framed for something he didn't do. With no one else he can trust he turns to the only person who has always believed in him - but is Jamie Powell up for the chaos that is about to come her way? Can she prove that Dustin Webb is as innocent as she knows him to be? Aftermath deals with everything that happens after an explosion that destroys the lives of so many. A survivor dealing with the feelings of losing her friends. A business partner whose partner is charged with a crime while dealing with his own personal crisis. An attorney facing the biggest case of her career. Aftermath takes the reader into the minds of several of the main character letting them see the world through their eyes, their feelings as they try to move on and reclaim their shattered lives. The action is intense and remains so throughout. The characters are well developed and one can easily connect with each of them on their own level and from where they are coming from. Terri Blackstock has achieved the perfect blend of suspense, romance, faith, and mystery in Aftermath. She mixed all of those elements in with terrorism, revenge, mental illness, betrayal, forgiveness, and reconciliation in a book that kept me up late into the night, or more accurately, early into the morning.. The plot has twist and turns and flows smoothly; the dialogue is natural; and the pacing is perfection. I highly recommend this book and this author. I definitely plan on reading more of Terri Blackstock's work. I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and have given my opinion of this well-written book.

Aftermath had me on the edge of my seat, and enjoying every minute of it. From the horror of reading about a bombing first hand to nervously hoping the truth would prevail, Blackstock is a suspense master. The twists and turns in this book took me by surprise and that’s not an easy thing to do. I easily loved Dustin and Jamie and had fun picturing them growing up alongside each other. I could not imagine how Dustin was feeling being accused of being a terrorist. Having to prove yourself innocent isn’t as easy as it sounds, and Dustin and Jamie have an uphill battle ahead of them. Will innocent until proven guilty be true in Dustins case? Or is something more sinister at play? This story threw me for a loop several times. I had a hard time putting the book down not knowing what could possibly happen next. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Suspense with just the right amount of Romance mixed in.
