Drew and Ashley romance is one for the ages. They have been in a on and off relationship for years. He has been there for her secretly buy she was willing to wait for him until he committed the ultimate betrayal. Drew is misunderstood because of the way he behaves. Family love can help with everything and Ash family means the world to him. This story is so full of angst that you will definitely need tissues. Great Conclusion to series.

Drew and Ash. A love story that spans a lifetime and one I still can’t stop thinking about. BJ Harvey has written one of her most powerful books to date with Third Strike. Digging deep to relay every single bit of intensity that is this couple. Taking the notion of a forbidden love to new heights with this all-encompassing story of want and need and the very definition of meant to be. Having been able to see Drew as the funny ‘sidekick’ so to speak to his best friend Millen in prior books, I was always very curious about his side of things and if his good intentions were sincere or if he was the screw up he portrayed. From the very start, I felt the want that Drew had for Ash, as they meet one sunny afternoon, poolside at Millen’s house when they were just 20 and 17. Theirs was an immediate reaction to the other and is the beginning of years of heartache and despair that I wasn’t sure either would survive. The Author takes us on a journey through the many twists and turns that ultimately define Drew and Ash’s romance. My heart broke right along with them as they are desperate to keep their affair private, not wanting to hurt Millen and threaten long-time relationships. The passion between them is beyond incredible. Talk about no one else existing when they are together. These two have as strong a pull towards one another as I’ve ever seen. And as they experience a plethora of starts and stops, years of frustration with a hint of sweet joy mixed in just to mess with their hearts over and over again, I was as broken up as they were, about their missed opportunities to come clean and to have the life they were supposed to have with each other. I loved seeing Drew grow into a responsible and loving man. His transformation wasn’t easy and the underlying reasons as to his newfound pride and synonym for responsibility is the biggest surprise of all. Reaching rock bottom, I was truly proud of him and to watch as those closest to him feel the same had me in tears. With an ending that had me blubbering like a fool, Third Strike will undoubtedly be one of my very favorites for 2019. BJ Harvey put me through the wringer and I applaud her ability to write a book rich with emotion that brought me to my knees more than once. It is simply superb and deserves 5+ huge stars! This one is not to be missed.
