 The one adjective used to describe my entire hockey career. I prefer to call it hard work, at least I did until my game went to complete crap. I haven’t scored in eight games and the team owner is talking about trading me. 

 I’ve never believed in superstitions. Never needed one. I suppose I was “lucky” in that way. But now the best way to refer to me is desperate. I’d wear the same socks for an entire year just to be the high-scoring center I used to be. 

Imagine my surprise when after spending New Year’s Eve with a woman, I score a hat trick in the next game—that’s three goals in one game for you non-hockey lovers. Now, I have to track her down and bribe her to do it again before every game. Get your mind out of the gutter, I’m not talking about it.

 I find her and when I get to know her better, I end up spending more time thinking about her than my game, but she’s made it clear she wants no part of me. She’s going to learn that I didn’t become a professional hockey player without having to fight for what I want.

Ratings and reviews

Great read! I like the switch up to hockey athletes. Aiden was a good guy from the beginning and Saige was a sweetheart too. From the beginning they really just clicked and went so well together. I really liked the whole team being part of the book as well because we get too see all the back and forth and who they really are. Plus we get a little more about who we get to read next! Happy ending for these two and I’m looking forward to the next hockey hunk.

My Lucky #13 is the first hockey romance that Piper Rayne bring us. I was excited and just couldn't wait for this new world of characters. In this story we meet Aiden as the leading man. I loved his personality and the fact that hockey is not the only love of his life. He really steps it up when it comes to family. But when things don't go well for this hockey player, Saige comes in. This was a slow burn story. There some complications between Aiden and Saige from the get go. So you weren't too sure if these two would make it as a couple or better as just friends. That chemistry though! I really enjoyed reading this story and am fond with the side characters. I am excited to read more of this series!

4.5 Stars This is the first book in a new hockey series. I can tell you I'm already hooked. I loved Aiden. He's yummy, but he also has a beautiful heart. Some of my favorite scenes are him with his family especially the kids. It shows his true character. Not gonna lie one of his family members made squee big time! Saige and Aiden are going to make you fall in love with them. They are so adorable! How it all began was funny, but it leads to so much more than either could have imagined. I laughed a lot and those hockey hunks have me hooked. Though the owner is on my I'm not sure about him list. We will have to see how that goes as the series goes on. I really can't wait for the next book in the series. I have a feeling it's going to be a good one!
