I have a lot of admiration for this series and Alicia Rades has added yet another exceptional book. Resolute means:- Firmly resolved or determined; set in purpose or opinion. That description is exactly how Rae continues her quest to find her sister and kill Valkas the vampire king the root of all the heartbreak Rae has endured. She is stronger now, believing she needs nothing or nobody to support her in this next chapter. Alicia Rades gives us a fast, tight, constrained storyline. My emotions was all over the place. At times I felt like putting ear plugs in so I couldn’t hear the brutality some of these characters experienced. Realism flows throughout these words, making me feel every beat of Rae’s wings, every fist that hit her body and every tear that fell. Due to how the storyline continues I found Resolute harder to read then the others in this series owing to the intensity of the despair Rae goes through. This part in the series had to eventually happen as this was Rae’s goal all along, needing to find out if her sister was alive or dead. The new characters introduced in Resolute was just as easy to befriend enabling myself to shout for their success & feel sorrow If they failed. We don’t get to see much of Rae’s new family amongst the main Characters this time, but they do make appearances. Venn will follow Rae anywhere, but this time it may be to late for both of them. The energy Resolute delivers gives us powerful scenes & strong sensations, with an ability to obtain insufficient sleep until every chapter is finished. The cliffhanger leaves us with the realisation that every thing that was or not accomplished on Gregor Island was manipulated before Rae even step foot there. It’s hard when you don’t like leaving spoilers, because once you have commented so much previously on the successful ability’s I feel Alicia Rades has, I can only skirt around what happened. I hope this gives you enough information to realise that this 5* series definitely deserves to be read, and will certainly keep you on your toes.
