Lark
I didn't realise this book was part of a multi author series. It reads very well as a standalone book, incorporating the couples from the series. I enjoyed Travis and Riley as a couple and as individuals, there characters brought dimension to the story. The backstory is of young love, tragedy and heartbreak. Travis and Riley have become successful in their respective careers, but neither is quite fulfilled in their personal lives. Past and present collide when circumstances reunite them, setting them on a course of discovery. Revelations, animosity and recriminations, give way to intense emotions.

Very proud of Riley, very empowering character that has matured into a compassionate and very independent woman. Travis has also risen above some life changing circumstances. This reunion opens the door for their second chance and a complete healing of some past baggage while clearing the air with some surprising twist. Love is in the air and it's determined that this meant to be couple will be just that. I really got into their story, instantly connected with them and felt their chemistry. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Travis is back in Asheville to complete two goals. Get his father healthy and help his brothers restore the family resort, Moonlight Ridge, to its former glory. Riley arrives in Asheville planning a gala for her family’s foundation. She plans to support a charity close to her heart. Soon they cross paths. Riley and Travis have some financial issues that could be resolved with a quickie marriage. The high school sweethearts are still attracted to one another, but in order to move forward they must reconcile their past obstacles and a new one that neither of them sees coming. Marriage of convenience and “fake dating” are two of my favorite romance tropes. And I adored this one. There was enough substance to create a believable set of events, and some unexpected romantic moments. Travis really is a gem who looks out for Riley’s heart. I loved seeing their story unfold as they renew their love for one another.
