Lange war es Vertriebenen nicht möglich, über die traumatischen Ereignisse zu berichten. Vor über 20 Jahren,gegen Ende ihres Lebens, erschienen ihre Erinnerungen. Im Nachhinein stellten sich Zweifel an zentralen Aussagen heraus. Diese werden bei der Neuauflage thematisiert.
