Midnight Breed by this author being one of my favourite PNR series, I was keen to venture in this new series of a different genre. It didn't disappoint. Nick is a charismatic and enigmatic billionaire. He commands attention wherever he goes and always goes after what he wants. Avery is a hopeful artist who works as a bartender to make ends meet. She is on the down and out, on the verge of being homeless. She gets a lucky break when asked to look after a client's apartment while she is away on business. On Avery's first visit to the apartment, she bumps into Nick. Literally! She is speechless whilst he stares at her with no reservation whatsoever. Things start to sizzle between them on their next encounter. Neither of them can deny the attraction to each other. They both appear to be damaged but neither of them is willing to reveal any secrets. They end up spending more and more time together and have some very sensual and steamy moments. It doesn't feel like just sex anymore and Avery feels cornered as she hasn't really told Nick the truth about herself. She is worried about what would happen if he was to find out about her unpleasant past. When Avery plucks up the courage to own up, she is surprised at Nick's reaction. Just when they think that they might be able to move forward and maybe explore what's really going on between them, something else crops up. Is Avery going to come clean and confide in Nick? Avery has a trust issue whereas Nick values trust. I like Nick's intensity, determination and the caring attitude that he hides behind his tough exterior. Avery is independent even when her past traumatic experience haunts her. This story is well balanced. It's full of twists and turns. Romantic and hot. Some of Avery's past has come to light but very little about Nick's. This first part of the trilogy ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, enough to pique my curiosity about what's coming next! This is an interesting storyline and a well written novel which I would recommend to those who like intrigue, suspense, romance and hot sex. I received a complimentary ecopy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I have read Lara Adrian for about 6yrs. Love her books about the Breed. Rio has been my hero for years. Love Nick and Avery, but have weird vibes about where they will end up. Avery started down a bad path with Nick. Lying is never the answer. Can't wait for 100 Nights. Hope the mess unravels for the good. Nick and Avery really need each other.

Avery´s having a hard time, and to top it all off she´s about to lose her apartment. WIth nowhere to stay, a golden opportunity to house sit is just what she needs. When a chance encounter in the house elevator puts her face to face with a gorgeous man she has no idea what this will mean for her. Billionaire Dominic is used to get what he wants, when he wants it, but the woman he runs into isn´t about to fall at his feet. When he can´t get enough of her, he´ll have to decide if he´s willing to put up with her secretive side and trust her. Or if Avery´s ready to trust him. Will it end when her months in the house is up? Contemporary romance, feelings and smutty fluff in a great combo, first in a three part serial and I can´t wait for the next installment!
