About the author

Alan J.K. Sanders is an independent scholar and freelance writer. He was the Lecturer in Mongolian Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. He has written and edited several books on Mongolia and he was awarded the Mongolian Order of the Pole Star in April 2007 for promoting British-Mongolian relations, Mongolian studies and Mongolian history and culture.
