She didn’t know he was watching. Until it was too late.

She’d walked this way hundreds of times before. She knew every twist and turn. She didn’t know this was the last time she’d ever walk this path.

Hidden deep in the forest, schoolgirl Felicity Parker is found carefully laid out on a rock with nothing but a freshly picked bunch of flowers next to her. The body lies just off a popular hiking route, and Detective Jenna Alton thinks the killer might be a visitor to the town, until another girl’s body is found at the local swimming pool, once again posed with a bunch of flowers.

Jenna recognizes the signs of a serial killer, and thinks it could be a local. As the town is gripped with fear, Jenna must examine each person the girls knew, and trust between neighbors starts to crumble.

Both girls went out on their own, and were found where they shouldn’t be. Were they taken by chance, or did they know their killer? How were they lured so far from safety? And can Jenna and her team find the killer before another life is lost?

An absolutely nail-biting thriller that will keep you up all night. If you enjoy Robert Dugoni, Karin Slaughter and Rachel Abbott, you’ll love this!

**Each Kane and Alton book can be read as part of the series or as a standalone**

It's been six months since the detectives solved their cases in DON'T TELL A SOUL. And boy! how things have changed. This book introduces a new character, a man not only who has ties to Kane, but is also a medical examiner. A widower with 3 daughters to raise, Wolfe is a most interesting character. He also brings a lot of computer knowledge with him. And since there is a new serial killer in this small town, having another set of eyes..eyes that miss nothing, is most beneficial. Someone is targeting teenage girls with long hair. After killing and mutilating them, he arranges their bodies in an 'art' form. Not pretty at all. One of Deputy Wolfe's daughter fits the victim profile. The town is gripped with fear ... a killer is living among them, and he’s picking off school girls one by one. The killer has picked his newest target ..and it's a lot closer to home than any of them know. Although this is the second in a 2-story series, it can easily be read as a stand alone. However, I strongly recommend reading them in order. I like how the characters' backstories are introduced and explained. The Sheriff and her Deputies all have secrets that they want to protect. There's a lot of action, a lot of suspects to be looked out and questioned. Even with many bodies in the mix, it's been an enjoyable read. Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the advanced digital copy. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

4.25⭐ Bring Me Flowers, book two in the Detectives Kane and Alton series is another nail-biting story. That had me guessing as to whom the killer was. But again, I was able to guess correctly, although as with Don't Tell A Soul it was pure luck on my part and in no way a reflection of the storyline, which was well-written, tightly plotted and full of twists. And with the introduction of Deputy/ME Shane Wolfe and the development of the Kane/Alton partnership I was totally engrossed throughout, and am genuinely looking forward to reading book three. Would recommend.

Awesome!!! I couldn't put this book down. I didn't see it coming at the end. I couldn't believe who the killer was. It had great characters, story line and very believable. I really enjoyed this book. I would definitely recommend this one.
