About this ebook

"Thief of War" is a standalone short story that takes place in the same world as Beth Bernobich's Passion Play, some 400 years before the events of the River of Souls trilogy.

Arbija will do anything to stop the Erythandran Empire from conquering her homeland. She will take on a new name, a new past, even a new face, all so she can infiltrate the palace and steal the Empire's more powerful magical artifacts. With these weapons, surely she can defend her people and keep them safe and free. Can she succeed where her sister failed?

"Bernobich is a master at writing the spy tale laced with a little bit of magic; she does not disappoint with this novella based in her River of Souls world."--RT Book Reviews
