About this ebook

He swore he'd never love again...

She'd risk her heart time and again to prove him wrong...

Much to his aggravation, the wickedly handsome Duke of Sethe, is wanted by every husband-hunting, title-chasing female in the country, or so it seems. Twice betrayed by women he loved, Nicholas Leighton is no longer the gullible young fool he was in his youth. Having grown cold and cynical, as well as older and wiser, he has vowed to never again allow another woman to affect him emotionally, for he has learned his lessons and learned them well. So, when the breathtakingly lovely Ashleigh St. John suddenly and unexpectedly enters his life, as well as his home, he is determined to keep the alluring interloper at an emotional and physical distance. Unfortunately, he quickly discovers that some things are easier said than done.

Reckless and daring, Ashleigh St. John is an unconventional young lady with the heart of a hopeless romantic. When she meets Nicholas Leighton she knows she has met the man of her dreams, but unfortunately, the man of her dreams seems bound and determined to keep her at a distance, hiding behind a self-erected wall of cool detachment and calculated indifference. Willing to do almost anything to break through the intractable barriers that guard his heart, she will willingly surrender her innocence and time and again risk her ravaged heart to ultimately win his trust, and more importantly his love.

I am on page 122 of this book and this is not Romance. Whether this is set in 171800's or if it was modern day... this leading MAN? is a baby. withholding all of himself, untruthful even to himself, vindictive, unjust, verbally cruel, narrow of heart...this is not Romance. The things he calls her and says to her with no provocation, only speculation, is the acts of an emotionally immature bully. Better to be husbandless than be tied to someone with such an irrational temper, quick to lash out and say the most cutting things. He is arrogant, not the same thing as self confidence at all. He is petty. Good looks are a gift but a dependable heart is something that should be treasured. This heroine will have a life of constantly walking on eggshells, fearing he may mistake any words or actions as signs of his bad, bad mamma. Ugh🤮 Not for all the looks and money in the world. Real men don't act like this Nicholas.

I read this book to the end mainly because I was curious to find out if what happened to the Duke's mother was as predictable as I expected and it was. However, I did find the story hard going, as I strongly disliked the Duke's unreasonable behaviour, which felt contrived and also found Ashleigh's repeated forgiveness unconvincing, given her strong character. I also found it irritating that the author rushed through the revelation at the end and chose not to pen the reactions of the other family members, to the surprising news. I gave it 4 * only because, despite my above dislikes, I still felt enough 'pull' in the storyline to keep me going to the end.

I enjoyed reading Until you. You took me on a wonderful journey with every character, I couldn't put it down. The only thing I didn't give it 5 🌟 is the profanity, because I believe one can express themselves without cursing.
