There were 2 out of the 7 books I'd read in other grouped novels. The ones that were new were great but one I didn't like was the invisible girl one...can't recall it. I didn't end up finishing it and just moved on. So 4of 7 okay 2 I read before and 1 I did not care for.

A few of them sound like they're written by a 15 year old. Not very well written, especially the one about the dream god and the death god. Also, for those of you wondering, Ciardis is pronounced like 'chardis'.

My first thoughts on this one? What a phenomenally unique and completely captivating collection of tales. I couldn’t put it down for a second. The authors employ vividly exotic descriptions and locales that catch you right from the get go. This stories become so real that it is scary. You can actually picture the events occurring and you find yourself picturing what would happen if you were in the characters’ shoes. The events in question may be out of our realm, but the way that they are written makes everything so real and thrilling that you forget that it is a fantasy. I have great respect for authors who do their research before writing fictional work based on fact or existing mythology. That said, I love the fact that many of these stories were mythologically accurate, with some big twists. The characters in this novel are quite well developed. You may not know their entire life histories, but you do get to know everything that is pertinent to the story and to let you get to know the characters. It was very refreshing to read a story by an author who can differentiate between necessary development to create a well-developed character, and giving an entire life history that slows down the storyline because it isn't actually relevant to the plot. I quite appreciated the vast array of characters that I encountered throughout this tale. They cover many age ranges and walks of life, making the story even more interesting. They had personalities that you could relate to. Many of these characters are made even more memorable with their one of a kind names. So many of them are unique or at least uncommon, but none are difficult to remember. Each of these authors brought a brand new world to life and kept me captivated throughout. As a whole I was completely entranced by the story. It was exciting, adventurous, and a brilliant way to get to know this authors. I would definitely recommend all of these novels to others and can’t wait to read more by these brilliant authors.
