Ratings and reviews

Picking up this book, I expected a somewhat medium well written regency romance mixed with a little magic. My expectations were entirely dashed. In Jessica, aka Snow, we have our intrepid heroine, The Lonely Ones make a wonderful set of dwarves & the Duchess is your perfect villain. Along the way I couldn't help but notice the slightly feministic touch, with the repeated insistence women could only choose between being child bearing factories or decorative. Both the heroine & the villain long for liberty & are, in their own right, independent, capable women. I liked the story's unpredictability, however, the end was slightly unsatisfactory, with some open questions. In comparison to the rest of the book it seemed like a quick fix to some plot issues. All in all, not a bad story, made interesting by mixing steampunk elements with fairy tale. The plot could have been more developed, the characters might have had a little more depth but if you're looking for sth different this is your book

This book sort of confused me and definetly pushes itself off the "normal" princess tales. With alot of mythical creature and witchcraft, but a good book to read if you wanted something different and surprising......

Oh my gosh I love this book! The characters were well developed so it felt like you knew them personally. I recomend this to anyone looking for a good book to read!

Tracy Lynn is a pseudonym. Liz Braswell is a real person. After the sort of introverted childhood you would expect from a writer, Liz earned a degree in Egyptology at Brown University and then promptly spent the next ten years producing video games. Finally she caved in to fate and wrote Snow, her first novel, followed by the Nine Lives of Chloe King series under her real name, because by then the assassins hunting her were all dead. Liz lives in Brooklyn with her husband, two children, and the occasional luna moth.
