It hurts to say but this book is definitely not very good. The rest of the series is so amazing, and I have much respect for the author, but I would be lying if I said I enjoyed this book. The descriptions are beautiful as always, and the setting is truly magical to get into. But that's really the only place this LN succeeds. (Well, the epilogue is pretty good actually)It's incredibly confusing in the beginning, so much so that it ruins enjoyment. The characters we know and love feel really one-dimensional, even though the author has been so good about this not being the case in other books! And, without spoiling anything, jeez this plot just didn't make any sense! And the ending was such a stretch, it feels like the author gave up and wove whatever she could together to get finished. I can't blame her because of how demanding LN schedules are... but still. Honestly, you could skip this book and be unaffected. Unless you really like Tohko, or really like Maki, I would suggest doing so.
