《學校輔導：趨勢與實務》是專為學校老師而寫的一本書，目的在裝備老師，俾能更好地履行教師的輔導職責和角色。本書不但闡析最新的輔導發展趨勢，同時亦強調本土因素對學校輔導工作的影響，是一本理論與實務兼備的著作。 全書共十一章，分為五部份，分別由六位任教香港教育學院特殊教育與輔導學系的學者編寫。第一部分涵蓋一至三章，闡釋學校輔導的基本理論及發展，強調學生的成長需要和由此衍生的不同輔導服務模式和策略。第二部分由五至七章組成，分別介紹三套輔導理論，希望讀者能以理論指導服務，以理念帶動實務，融會貫通。第三部分包括第四、第八和第九章，針對學生發展的需要，探討個人成長教育和班主任的角色與功能。最後兩章（第十、十一章）的內容是學校輔導中較高層次的實踐，包括危機處理和輔導的倫理議題。 讀者可順序閱讀各篇章，亦可因應不同需要跳閱，參考相關章節。期望本書能予教育工作者在日常輔導工作中溫故知新，反思成長的機會。
