I"ve been a 'crossdresser' since I was 11 or 12, known I am a transsexual since I first read the definition. I've stayed away from books like this because it make the desires worse in a way. I read 'Second Serve' by Dr. Richards in the '80s, this book was so much better. It was nice to see it written in such a honest and forthright way. No glossing over the attraction to men as women and the need to be a woman with a man. I've had all those desires as well, though I have not acted on them as Dr. Novic has. I applaud her for her courage and determination and in having a wife who is understanding and supportive of her husband's, ah uh, 'hobby'. An excellent book, thanks for sharing your story!!

Richard Novic, M.D. is a psychiatrist practicing psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. In addition to his mainstream clientele, his patients include many transgendered, gay, lesbian, and bisexual people.
